The industrial crane is permanent engineered equipment that is designed to conduct lifting work. There are several different varieties of cranes, all of which are designed for use in specific settings. Each type of crane has varying qualities of load capacity, sizes, lifting height and span. The following are the types of cranes:
Overhead Travelling Crane
The Overhead Crane is a crane that is designed to operate in industrial environments. An overhead crane consists of parallel runways with a travelling bridge spanning the gap. These
cranes are electrically operated by a control pendant, radio remote pendant, or from an operator
cabin attached at the crane.
The underhung crane is another good choice for factories and warehouse facilities.
Underhung cranes are also known as under-running cranes.
This is because this crane does not require supportive floor columns and they typically ride on the lower flange of the runway beam.
Gantry Cranes are also known as Portal Cranes. Gantry Cranes are divided into Standard Gantry Cranes, Semi Gantry Cranes and C-shaped Gantry Cranes. Semi-Gantry Cranes are designed with one leg while “Standard” Gantry Cranes are with two legs. Both Semi and Standard Gantry Cranes can be designed as single girder or double girder solutions and include cantilevers, all depending on the capacity, application, customer specifications and dimensional constraints.
A Jib Crane can be fixed to a wall or to a floor-mounted pillar. Used mostly in industrial and marine premises, the arm of the jib crane can swing through an arc, giving additional lateral
movement or be fixed at a required position. The jib cranes can also be fitted on top floors of warehouse buildings to help lift goods to all floors from ground to top.
A monorail crane is a type of lifting devices that relocate materials or products within a restricted
location. Monorail cranes can be designed into the building structure, where they enter into the
building via building columns, or by adding and reinforce different types of monorail beam
supports. The monorail crane is available with a manual or fully motorized trolley.
Industrial Transfer Cars are designed to accommodate the needs of a wide range of industries
including Steel, Aluminium, Automotive, Stamping, Heavy Manufacturing and several others.
These units are designed to operate on floor mounted rails and are used to transport heavy
materials across crane bays or in areas not serviced by an overhead crane.
