Gantry cranes come in different forms and sizes, designed to suit the specific purpose for which they are intended. The versatility of their design allows the end-user to choose which type of crane they need, whether it be a portable, semi-gantry or full gantry crane. They are commonly used for heavy fabrication applications or outdoor construction – rail yards, steel yards, shipping yards, industrial sites, warehouses, etc.
Portable gantry cranes are used for handling light loads. They are also designed to be portable and may be moved around the site for multiple tasks, such as aerial work platforms, debris removal, cleaning up, or moving equipment or materials to other areas.
Semi-gantry cranes are designed to handle heavier loads. They have a high lifting capacity and can work in a straight line, allowing for the positioning of heavy objects with much ease.
Full gantry cranes are much heavier and often larger than the other two types. These are designed for carrying heavy loads or utilising large gantry arms for lifting heavy items such as cement, steel or concrete.
